Item 8.01. Other Events
On December 27, 2007, the Company settled its two year patent infringement and contract litigation. Under the terms of the settlement, the Company agreed to dismiss its lawsuit with prejudice and was paid $8 million, which was received on December 28. In connection with the settlement, the Company also granted the other parties in the lawsuit a non-exclusive license under its U.S. Patent No. 5,665,152. The Company will record the settlement as a separate line item below income from operations. The Company used the proceeds from the settlement to reduce the amount outstanding under its line of credit.
