Monique Huber Promoted to Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager at MGP Ingredients, Inc.
ATCHISON, Kan., May 6, 2008Monique Huber has been named quality assurance laboratory manager at MGP Ingredients, Inc. (MGPI) in Atchison. In this position, she becomes responsible for managing all quality assurance laboratory functions, including in-plant laboratories, in-process and finished product analysis, as well as laboratory support for products produced at MGPI's Kansas City, Kan. facility. She succeeds Jennifer Peltzer, who was recently appointed to the position of enterprise resource planning system manager at the company.
"Monique brings a wealth of laboratory experience to the quality assurance laboratory manager role," said David Whitmer, corporate director of quality management. "Monique has been involved with analytical method implementation and the analysis of nearly every MGPI product in the past two decades. She is prepared to lead the laboratory as it supports MGPI as a world class manufacturer of ingredients and distillery products."
Huber has been with MGPI for nearly 20 years, starting her career in the laboratory in 1989 as a technician. She has performed duties in MGPI's quality assurance, microbiological, and research and development laboratories. Additionally, Huber has been the lead trainer of operators in Atchison's protein and starch in-plant labs.
"I have enjoyed my time in the quality assurance area as a lab technician and am glad that I can continue my career at MGPI within the same department," said Huber. "It will be a great experience to work with everyone involved with the quality assurance/quality control aspect of MGPI products."
Huber is a native of St. Joseph, Mo., and is a graduate of Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, where she received a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
